ORBIS Corporation Announces Recent Sustainability Accomplishments

OCONOMOWOC, Wis. − ORBIS Corporation, a manufacturer of sustainable reusable packaging and an expert in supply chain optimization, today announcedrecent efforts to make the company more sustainable. These environmentally conscious decisions follow the lead ORBIS sets for its customers through its extensive line of sustainable reusable packaging.

While ORBIS has long offered products that enable customers to conduct environmentally conscious shipping, packing, storage and systems management that improves the flow of product through the supply chain, that is only half of the story. ORBIS also commits itself internally to ensuring they utilize efficient and progressive practices and materials to attain a greater level of environmental sustainability in their headquarters, offices and plants across the map.

ORBIS Corporation’s recent efforts were focused onmultiplelighting installations, estimated to yield an annual savings of 3.9 millionkilowatt hours (kWh).  One of the projects that ORBIS recently completed was a lighting upgrade project at its Urbana, Ohio facility. ORBIS replaced more than 500 high intensity discharge lamps with four and six lamp T5 high-bay fixtures, all equipped with occupancy sensors. The ORBIS facility in Mentor, Ohio underwent similar upgrades, leading to annual savings of more than 45 percent and more than 400,000 kWh per year. Additionally, similar upgrades werecompleted atits Bardstown, Ky.;Georgetown, Ky. and Osage City, Kan. Facilities.
