The membership of the Reusable Packaging Association (RPA) has approved its Board of Directors for 2012. The eight Board members will contribute their expertise and experience to help the Association further its mission of promoting the value and expansion of reusable packaging systems. The can¬di¬dates will serve two-year terms beginning Jan. 1, 2012 and ending Dec. 31, 2014.

Reduce, reuse, recycle. These have been the three legs of the stool called sustainable packaging for about as long as I can remember. But these days it seems that only two of the three—reduce and recycle—are talked about all that much. So it’s refreshing to see recent reports confirming that reusable containers are alive and well.
Bielomatik, a manufacturer of plastic welding systems, has become the 50th member of the Reusable Packaging Association. Bielomatik designs and manufactures plastic welding systems used in the production of reusable plastic pallets. Its customers include RPA members ORBIS Corporation, Buckhorn Inc. and Rehrig Pacific.
